I bought the Pixel Watch 3 to try tracking my fitness.

The Google Pixel watch has been around for several years now. And I have been using the 1st gen Pixel watch since it came out in 2022. The first gen watch was just a glorified Fitbit, with the features being Fitbit features since Google bought the brand the year previous.
So, the features that I have been using are the heartrate monitor, activity tracker, calorie tracker, texting and phone call information and calendar events. Now, I don’t think at the time it had LTE phone coverage, but nevertheless, I only used Bluetooth to connect my phone and my watch at the time. But I could be wrong about that, as I commonly am wrong.
The Pixel watch was a great watch for three years, I was able to track what I needed to track on my watch with my workouts and it told me how much sleep I was getting. I could also see my messages and phone calls which was nice but I didn’t really utilize any other features than those. And by the time it was 3 years old, I wasn’t getting a 24 hour charge out of it without having to charge it again. I kept it on battery saver mode most of the last year I had it so that I could track my workouts. So it was time for a new one.
I HATE, and I mean HATE buying new technology. Like just as soon as a new something or other comes out, there is something or other better than the last one for double the price. So I sit and wait. I wait for people to complain about what doesn’t work or praise the things that work well. And I typically wait until a new <insert gadget here> to buy the previous generation’s gadget. Cue the Pixel Watch 4, due to be released in October of this year. YAY I bought the 3 in July, and I LOVE IT. Let me tell you about it.
This watch boasts several features: Sleep Monitor, Email, Accelerometer, Body Temperature Monitor, ECG, Activity Tracker, Always On Display, Calorie Tracker, Stress Tracking, Contactless Payments, Fall Detection, and Heart Rate Monitor.
I feel like the sleep monitoring is great, and with a Fitbit membership I get to read about my sleep animal every month. Who doesn’t want to know what their sleep animal is? Not this girl, sign me up! As far as I know, the body temperature isn’t something that I have really paid attention to but I guess its good to have. I track all my activities so that is def great. The calorie tracker is great too(if I’d use it, amirite?). Now stress tracking – you may love it, but I guess I get stressed at least once an hour and it does get annoying every time it tells me I’m stressed. Like, you don’t have to tell me, I already know. But if you like to know that sort of thing, then there ya go. Contactless payments are great if you use them I guess, I don’t. Heart rate monitor is good – I like to know my heart rate. But the fall detection is wonderful. Gratefully I haven’t ever had to use it, but just for it to be able to detect that and contact my emergency contacts is amazing. I love that there is something out there that can help me if I ever have an emergency is a win in my book.
I never knew I needed all these features, but they sure are great. I can’t imagine a time where I couldn’t look up a workout type to track on my phone and scroll to another screen to see what my schedule looks like for the day, and be able to text my husband back while I’m at the gym just using my watch! They sure have come a long way since the simple pedometer. And the battery life is pretty good considering all this little device does. I still charge it about once a day, but I get more life out of it than that. It is just habit to charge it now when I shower or right before bed. And this thing takes no time at all to charge. Less than an hour and even if you were on battery saver, it is charged and ready.
This guy is nice. I am sure the Pixel Watch 4 will be even better. I just don’t need to find out, I’ll wait.
If you are in the market for a fitness tracker/watch/technical gadget, no doubt get this one. Have you gotten a Pixel Watch before? What do you think? Let me know below. Is there another one out there that is better? Let me know that too!
5 stars for this watch. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.
