I tried Oath Clear Whey Protein and these are my thoughts.
What it is
Oath Clear Whey Protein is a whey protein isolate that has been ultra filtered to provide a more juice like flavor and thickness. Unlike other whey protein that is thick and creamy. This product comes from grass-fed protein sources and contains no added sugars. One serving contains 20 grams of whey protein isolate, and the whole package contains 18 servings. The company notes that their protein goes through an ultra-filtration process to lower the pH values and viscosity, creating a light protein base. They also say that this product delivers superior bioavailability and absorption rates to help maximize protein synthesis while delivering a delicious fruity flavor.
There are several flavors to chose from: Brazilian Limeade, Coco Razz, Coconut Colada, Icy Blue Razz, Island Mango, Kiwi Strawberry, Raspberry Lemonade, and Watermelon Fresca.
This clear protein powder gets 89% either 4 or 5 stars, with 78% 5 stars. And they received a 4.6 out of 5 stars on Amazon with 642 global ratings.
What I Thought
Once I mixed this powder with my little rechargeable whisk, it was instantly just a great fruity drink that somehow has 20 grams of protein! I bought the Coco Razz, and it tastes just like a fruity drink that you might have at the beach, or one of those viral waters that everyone was making last summer.
Now, first – you do need either a blender bottle or a little mixer of some kind. It will not mix with just a spoon or anything like that. But most people who are making protein drinks at home already know this. Mixing any protein in cold liquid is never easy. But with a little whisk or a blender, or blender bottle you should be good to go.
Second- it is easy to drink. Mix one scoop with about 8 oz of water, maybe blend it with a couple of ice cubes, and you have yourself an amazingly easy treat. It takes no time to chug this stuff down. It isn’t milky at all, just like a juicy drink, or icy beverage to enjoy after a workout, or any time you need a little extra kick of protein.
This stuff would be great made into ice cream, or with other water flavors added. Some of the reviews even mentioned the coconut colada mixed with pineapple juice or water flavoring – and I think i am going to try that one next.
The Coco Razz reminds me of an ocean water from Sonic. And if you were to blend some ice with this it would totally taste like an ocean water slush, but without all the tons of sugar that Sonic puts in their slushes! Since there is no added sugar in this protein powder, it is like giving yourself a little treat after a workout but you don’t have to feel guilty about it later.
Final Thoughts
Here’s the thing. For what this product is and does it is great. It is a little pricey for protein powder, but at the same time, it is an exceptional product. It doesn’t upset the tummy, maybe because it has been ultra-filtered, maybe because it just isn’t as thick as others, I don’t really know. But I will continue adding this in to my routine because I love having the extra protein, and because it actually tastes good.
I have to give this one 5 out of 5 stars.
No complaints here. The only thing I may do next time is try a new flavor. Maybe the Coconut Colada or the Island Mango. You know, to keep things interesting and change it up a bit.
